Chapli Kabab
Chapli kabab is a famous dish originating from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province of Pakistan. It's made from ground beef with variety of spices and fried in shape of a patty. In Peshawar city we find the most authentic chapli kabab served with yoghurt and naan or flat bread.
Ingredients:
- 1 Kg Ground Beef
- 2 Onions
- 4 Tomatoes
- 5 Green Chilies
- Small Bunch Coriander Leaves
- 100g Butter
- 6 Tablespoons Besan (Gram Flour)
- 2 Eggs
- 2 Tablespoon ground coriander seeds
- 2 Tablespoon red chili powder or to taste
- 2 Tablespoon Turmeric powder
- 2 Tablespoon kabab masala
- Salt to taste
- Oil as required for shallow frying
Instructions:
- In a bowl place the ground beef, add gram flour and all the spices then mix well
- Add finely chopped green chilies, 2 tomatoes, onions and coriander leaves to the beef mixture
- Now add 2 eggs and butter, mix the beef well with hands
- Take some beef in the palm of your hand to make a round burger patty
- Heat oil in pan on high heat, shallow fry the patties until golden brown
- Let them rest for 5 to 10 min on kitchen paper to drain out any excess oil
- Cut tomato slices, fry them lightly in the pan and place on top of the kababs
The tasty dish is ready to be served with yoghurt and naan. Enjoy!
