Learn how to make the all time favorite and popular Chinese chicken Chow-mein at home. It's a quick easy to make main course dish for lunch or dinner.

Buy chow mein noodles commonly available everywhere, unless you live in Antarctic, where they have their own menu :P

For vegetables, you can choose any kind of vegetable to add with noodles and chicken. Here have mentioned commonly used ones.

Try and practice this recipe while experimenting with different ingredients although the procedure remains more or less same. You will enjoy making it once you find your perfect combinations to suit your tastes, especially for kids they'll definitely love it.

Ingredients:

  • 300g Noodles
  • 2 Tablespoon cooking oil
  • 200g Boneless Chicken [Shredded]
  • 3-4 Garlic Cloves
  • 2 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • Small Cabbage [Cut in thin strips]
  • 2 Medium Size Carrots [fine chopped]
  • 1 Bunch green onions
  • 1 Capsicum [fine chopped]
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Boil water in a medium size pot add 1 Tablespoon salt and add chow mein noodles to it
  2. Cook the noodles for 3-4 minutes or as per instruction on the packing
  3. Once cooked, drain the water add a tablespoon oil and mix lightly
  4. In a pan add some oil and stir fry the shredded chicken until golden brown, set aside
  5. Stir fry the vegetables 2- 3 minutes (add some salt and pepper to taste if you like)
  6. Once done, combine all ingredients noodles, chicken, vegetables, soy sauce stir well
  7. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes while stirring
  8. Add tomato sauce (optional) and serve hot
