Homemade Tasty Donuts


Here is the recipe for beautiful homemade donuts that will compete with Krispy Creme or Dunkin Donuts any time..

There are tow ways to make donuts either by frying or baking. The original and most liked are the fried donuts. 

Frying donuts very carefully is absolutely crucial in making the eatable donuts. If fried in high heat or very low heat will result in either crispy crust or oily donuts and that's very undesirable.

Therefore, trial and error is important so try cooking with extra dough for test frying. Fry one donut at a time if you are newbie.


Ingredients:

  • 2 Eggs
  • 5 Cups Flour (All Purpose)
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 100g Butter
  • 1 Teaspoon Yeast
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1/4 Cup Luke Warm Water
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence (Optional)
  • Oil for deep frying

Ingredients for Glaze:

  • 250g Powdered Sugar
  • 75g Butter
  • 5 Tablespoon Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Water

Instructions:

  1. Prepare yeast by putting the yeast powder in luke warm water in a small bowl and set aside
  2. Beat eggs in big bowl, add milk, sugar, butter salt while mixing them together at same time
  3. Add all purpose flour to the mixture, by this time also add activated yeast as well
  4. Kneed the dough until it unifies to become a sticky and stretchy ball of flour
  5. Cover the big bowl of dough with shrink wrap, set aside for 1 hour
  6. You will see the dough rise to double in size, if not give it more time
  7. Once the dough has expanded well enough, take it out of the bowl and place on oiled cutting board
  8. Flatten the dough with rolling pin to half inch thick sheet
  9. Carve out donuts with a donut cutter or a glass and bottle cap
  10. Repeat until almost all the dough is used
  11. Heat oil in a deep pan to medium heat, and put a couple 2-3 donuts at one time
  12. Fry them lightly up to max 30 seconds on each side, take out of oil once golden color on both sides
  13. The donuts are ready to be glazed.
  14. Make the glaze separately in heated pan by putting powdered sugar, butter, milk and water together and stir well until a thick glaze is formed
  15. Put the glaze in a deep plate, dip the top side of donut in the glaze and remove

The great tasting donuts are ready to be served.
