Middle eastern dish that has become one of the most popular street foods in Arabian Peninsula and beyond. It has several variations, here we will prepare the most common one.




Ingredients

1 Kg Chicken
2 Tablespoon Garlic and Ginger paste
1 Tablespoon Chilli Sauce
1 Tablespoon Salt or to taste
2 Tablespoon Red Chilli Powder
1/2 Cup Cooking Oil
1/4 Cup Vinegar
1/2 Tablespoon Custard powder
1 Onion
4 Tomatoes
Ketchup



Directions:

1) Cut chicken into small strips
2) In a bowl, add garlic/ginger paste, Chilli Sauce, vinegar, Mustard Powder, Red chilli Powder, and salt, mix well
3) Add chicken to the bowl and cover it well with the mixture, refrigerate for 30 min
4) Heat cooking oil in a pot on medium heat, add the chicken and cook for 20-25 min OR until chicken is tender
5) On a skillet, heat pita bread on both sides, apply mayonnaise to the bread or serve separate
6) Wrap chicken in the bread along with fine chopped onion and tomatoes

Serve with dips of tomato ketchup mayo.
